Life this week...

Well, it's been a fun but busy week. Lots of activities this week:

Nathaniel and Christopher's Christmas concert was this week. Christopher plays the euphonium, and did pretty good. He looked so sharp up there with his black pants and white shirt. The bulk of the night went to the k-2 graders, and it was so funny. Anytime you see that age group stand up on stage for a prolonged period of time, funny things happen. There was Tommy, the chubby little Korean boy on the end of the row that had to go to the bathroom and kept raising his hand to try and get the teacher's attention. There were the kids who sang at the wrong time, and kids next to them put their hands over their mouth. There was the little girl who was singing a solo but was standing on her tiptoes to reach the microphone, only to have a young boy run out and adjust the microphone for her (to an audible gasp and "awe" of the crowd), then there was Nathaniel in the midst, waving, hamming it up for the camera, giving us the OK sign. (refer to the OK sign game from an earlier post) It more than made up for the months of hearing "Tell me Mary, where are you going...".

Timothy's class is raising money for an orphanage here in town. They are having a bake sale, so he was up making cookies last night. He did it all by himself, and thoroughly loved it. He also read the Bible in Chapel this week. He stood up there with so much poise. He told me that he didn't feel like it...he was pretty nervous. But he did great. His teacher was proud.

Em has had some time off of extra curricular activities and she is loving it. We have lunch together a few times a week, and it's so nice hearing about her day and connecting with her. She has grown up so much. It's fun to watch her at this point living her life and making her decisions. She's got a good head on her shoulders.

T and I are on a cooking kick again. We're having fun putting together different ideas, and to see how frugally we can do it. That's been our challenge lately. It's been fun. The kids are definitely reaping the benefits. ha!

I'll post some pictures of the concert soon. T took some good ones. He's getting good with that camera!
