Gramma Hughes
Just as we are settling down after Mimi's passing, we received an email from Tim's mom and dad that his Gramma Hughes passed away. She also had a stroke a few weeks ago, and was recovering. She died quickly, which was a blessing in that she wasn't in pain.
Emily has the most memories of Gramma H. She traveled with mom and dad Hughes to her home when she was 7 or 8 years old. She especially remembers her garden, and her kindness. I met her when Timothy was just a baby. She came to visit, and even then her vitality was evident. She was 80 or close to it, but you couldn't tell!
My impression of her was one of a hard working woman, one who liked to be outside working in her garden. She was pleasant and stubborn all at once. I don't know how that is possible, but she pulled it off.
We are sad that once again a vibrant and important part of our living history has now passed. Mom and Dad Hughes, we mourn with you.
