Sports Award Banquet
I'm sitting in my class yesterday, having lunch with Em, when Timothy came in and said, "Mom! Em forgot to go to the Sports Award Banquet last night!" I could have kicked myself, because I really wanted her to go, but I forgot about it, too.
Trying to deflect this, I scolded Em. 'What are you doing to me, Em???!!! I need those trophies in my house! With all that I go through with you kids, it's the least you can do! You should be filling my house with your trophies! It's a testament to my parenting skills!"
Em, without skipping a beat, said: "No, me not being there is a testament to your parenting skills."
Oh my word. That was one of our doses of laughter for the day.
