It's beginning to look a lot like...
Christmas! The boys have a concert on Tuesday (Classical guitar...I signed them up for it thinking it was the same as regular guitar. Shows what I know!) It should be a good concert. The weather has finally cooled. Starbucks is serving Toffee Nut Latte's (still waiting for the Cinnamon Streussle) and we're getting some fun movies for which we will need to go see in Gold Class, of course. And the stores are putting up their Christmas decorations. The nice thing here is that they don't really put up stuff like that until after Thanksgiving....unlike the states.
We are Thankful our San is doing well. It's always hard when we hear bad things about the ones we love, and we still don't know all, but we know he hasn't changed a bit and is completely unaffected. He's even playing baseball! So we feel very blessed that things could be a lot worse and they aren't.
I'm completely enjoying the study I'm doing on right brain learners. In fact, it's beginning to change much of what we are doing at school and how we are working with kids...even kids who aren't identified special needs, but are not working to their potential. It's an amazing thing, the way our brains are wired and the way we learn to adapt.
We were listening to a sermon today, and how fearfully and wonderfully made we are. Did you know that there are 41 million cells in one human eye alone? The eye is so fine-tuned, that if any one of it's functions is not working properly, then the eye will not work properly. That the chance of any two enzymes (that are in a single cell and are needed to replicate) to meet together by chance outside a cell and come together to form a cell is 1x10 to the 40,000th. Let alone that cell could ever replicate itself, and so on, and so on... It's pretty amazing, when you think about how much faith people put in Science, when putting our faith in the Creator just makes so much more sense!
Well, off to get ready for another week. I can't say how much I'm enjoying teaching. Things are coming together, and it's nice having a vision of what needs to take place for those who are in need! Tis lots o' fun!
Merry Christmas....
