Don't you love it when they get along?
San and Christopher have been playing the "got you last" game with a vengeance lately. Yesterday was no different, as they went to the school to play some softball with their dad and some friends.
Hearing them tell the story is hilarious, because they can only speak a few words before busting out laughing. It took awhile for the story to get out, but in the end everyone was laughing right along with them. Seems they had their "got you last" game going, and Christopher was standing near a basket of softballs. San got Christopher last and took off running. When he was about 20 yards away, Christopher yelled, "Hey San!" and tossed the ball in the air.
Now San takes the story over. He looks over his shoulder and sees the ball coming, and he can't get away from it. To hear him tell it, it's like one of those ghosts in the Mario Brothers game: it's swerving and looping and following him wherever he goes. In actuality, it never occurred to him to stop or change his course. He looked over his shoulder one last time, yelled, and got bonked right in the side of the head. He stumbles around laughing, not believing Christopher had an aim that good.
Now Christopher takes over, hardly able to talk. He repeated the "Hey, San!" from the start of the story, and then when he could finally get the words out, he said, "Got you last!"
Rolling laughter by all.
I know San got beaned in the head by a softball, but they were getting along and that's the important thing. Right????
