Quilting and other stuff
I am enjoying quilting so much. It is a fun way to spend some extra time at home. Listening to the kids talk about their day (they have some of the craziest friends!), listening to San talk on and on and on about anything and everything, all of them (including Big Dad) asking to see how far I've gotten.... it's fun.
Timothy is interested in making one. He wants to make one for his teacher, Dr. Moon. So I'm thinking maybe a quilt with all of them signing it is a good thing. We'll see.
Dr. Moon has made such an impact on Timothy. A good teacher does that, but from the teaching side, it's a mutual thing. There is this sort of symbionic relationship that happens, where both teacher and student benefit a great deal from each other when both are in the right place. The teacher in the mode of guiding, training, looking for teachable moments, the student being teachable. So much progress is made in those situations.
I'm so glad that Christopher will have him next year. I can see how he will benefit from him.
Over here, we kind of get in the swing of things after New Year, but it goes into "coast" mode, because Chinese New Year is so close afterward. This year, Chinese New year is three weeks after our New Year, so we have another week off of school. Once Chinese New Year is over, we will begin the long haul of Spring. :) I'm looking forward to the routine.
